Ricardo Conde is the proud son of Zapoteco indigenous farmworker parents who immigrated to California from Oaxaca, Mexico. Both of his parents worked harvesting crops throughout Southern California. His father worked in the agricultural fields most of his life picking cabbage, celery, among other fruits and vegetables. Ricardo has vivid memories of his father speaking very highly of Cesar Chavez and sharing stories of when he marched along his side to support farmworker rights. As the youngest of six migrant siblings, Ricardo can relate to many of the experiences of our farmworker families.
Born in Los Angeles, California, he has called Ventura County his home for over 35 years, where he currently resides with his wife and six children. He is an active ministry leader in his church and on a weekly basis, his family volunteers to cut the yards of families in need. He holds a degree in Business Administration from Santa Barbara Business College. Moreover, he has over eighteen years of experience in sales, currently working in the pharmaceutical industry. Ricardo’s enthusiasm to help our farmworkers is evidenced by his and his family’s volunteer work at our local Laundry Love events! Ricardo is delighted to serve on the Board of Friends of Fieldworkers to further his support for our Ventura County farmworker families.
