Born and raised in Ventura County to immigrant parents who also worked the
fields in Oxnard for many years, Suhey Tapia embodies the fusion of cultures
and languages that define the region. She found her calling in the art of
interpreting very early on, becoming a certified court interpreter fluent in both
Spanish and English.
Suhey's educational background includes a Master Arts in Translation and
Interpretation Middlebury Institute of International Studies, as well as a Bachelor
of Arts in Spanish and Linguistics from UCLA.
She also extends her interpreting expertise to various sectors, including non-
profit organizations, educational institutions, and local and federal government
entities.
Suhey is excited to join Friends of Fieldworkers, Inc to help further their mission
of supporting, celebrating, and advocating for fieldworkers.
