Laundry Love is a program that farmworkers have highly prioritized and requested. We fund four monthly Laundry Love programs in El Rio and Oxnard. It is part of a national program focusing on providing no-cost laundry services to no or low-income people across the country. Through our partnership with the national program, eco-friendly laundry detergent is regularly provided at no cost by Earth Breeze.
During these events, we offer the following:
- Fresh food distribution to our attendees in partnership with Food Share of Ventura County
- A mini clothing "shop" for families to take from our collected in-kind donations
- A Children's Program with arts, crafts, and science
- A homework center where students attending with their parents can get free homework help
We often partner with local government and community organizations to distribute an "item of the month" to our families. These have included: children's Halloween costumes, Lions District backpacks filled with school supplies, hand sanitizers, and covid tests.
